Jean Boyko, 80, a resident of Old Forge and Taylor, died Thursday at Linwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Scranton. She was preceded in death on Dec. 9, 2005, by her beloved husband of 49 years, Joseph D. Boyko.

Born Jan. 12, 1934, daughter of the late Francis and Celia Habgood Condon, Jean was a graduate of Old Forge High School. Of Roman Catholic faith, she was a member of St. Ann's Basilica Church in West Scranton. Family-oriented, she enjoyed baking, cooking and, most of all, spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her five children, Michael Boyko and wife, Donna; Frank Boyko, all of Taylor; Mary Mahon and husband, Mark, Stanhope, N.J.; Ellen Pieczynski and husband, Thomas, Kingston; and Anne Wasko and husband, Randy, Clarks Summit; siblings, William Condon and wife, Sandra, Old Forge; and Mary Gehringer, Allentown; six grandchildren, Jack, Erin and Anna Wasko, Ellen and Eric Mahon and Mike Boyko; nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled today at 10 a.m. at St. Ann's Basilica, St. Ann's Street, West Scranton, to be celebrated by the Rev. Francis Landry, C.P., pastor. Interment, St. Joseph's Cemetery, Scranton. Arrangements are under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge.
Friends may call today, 9:30 until Mass at the church.
