Catherine S. Tarantini, Newton Twp., formerly of Scranton, died Friday after battling a long illness. She was the wife of Leonard Tarantini. The couple was married more than 60 years.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late George and Jean Schalpia Llewlyn. A graduate of West Scranton High School, she was employed by the Ma Skettino's Pasta Sauce Co. for many years. Before her retirement, she was employed as a bookkeeper by West Side Painting.
Also surviving are a daughter, Georgina Tarantini, Brewster, N.Y.; two sisters, Dorothy Rossi and Marilyn Zarra, both of Pittston; several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Veronica Murnane.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Guido-Fiorillo Funeral Home, 120 S. Main Ave., Scranton, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
