Margaret M. Leo, 98, of Carbondale, died Sunday at Carbondale Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. She was the widow of Carmine "Bootsie" Leo, her soulmate, who died in 1979.

Born in Carbondale, daughter of the late Angelo and Antoinette Craparulo Ciance, she was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish, Carbondale. Educated in the Carbondale public school system and a devout Catholic, she was an excellent cook and took pride in her home. Her immediate family and her extended family of relatives meant everything to her and she enjoyed every moment spent with them.

The family thanks the nursing home and Traditional Hospice staff for the care.

Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Judy Leo, Carbondale; two grandsons, Andrew Leo, Scranton; and David Leo, Carbondale; a brother, Joseph Ciance, Carbondale; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Andrew Leo, in 2013; a brother, Michael Ciance; and sisters, Kate Desien, Louise Giulivo, Lena Scavo and Rose Bonacci.

The funeral will be Saturday from the Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home, 2 Hospital St., Carbondale, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.
