Esther Belles, 71, of Moosic, died Wednesday evening at home. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Howard Milton Belles, on Jan. 25, 2008.

Born in Plymouth on June 19, 1942, daughter of Margaret and William Evans, Esther was a graduate of Pittston High School.

She was a loving woman, who will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her loving children, Christine Cremard and husband, Dr. Fiore, Old Forge; a son, Howard Belles and fiancée, Rebecca; many nieces and nephews, especially Gary and Katie Belles, whom Esther considered her grandchildren; dearest friends, Phyllis Harrison and Norma Rosati; and her dog, Ricky, whom she adored.

She was also preceded in death by siblings, Tony Wierkowski, George and William Evans, Maryann Peeler and Sister Marianita Wierkowski.

A private Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled at Queen of the Apostles Parish, 715 Hawthorne St., Avoca, to be celebrated by the Rev. Phillip Sladicka, pastor. Interment will follow at Spring Brook Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge.
