Betty O'Connor, 94, a lifelong Jessup resident, died Saturday morning at the Mid-Valley Health Care Center, Peckville.

Born in Jessup, daughter of the late Thomas A. and Bridget Byrne O'Connor, she was a graduate of Jessup High School. She retired following a long career with the A&P, and was a lifelong member of St. James Church, Queen of Angels Parish in Jessup.

Betty was a loving and caring sister, aunt and friend. She loved to travel, garden and quilt, and especially enjoyed spoiling her nieces and nephews. She was a generous woman and a good neighbor, and was always there to help her church when needed. Betty was the family bread baker, who taught her grandnieces how to bake bread and carry on the family tradition, started by her beloved mother.

Betty's family would like to thank Dr. Randall Brundage and everyone who cared for Betty, including all the caregivers at her home, at the Mid-Valley Health Care Center and the nurses from Traditional Hospice, who cared for her in her final days.

Surviving are a sister, Sally E. Brogan, Clarks Green; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces, great-grandnephews and a cousin.

She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Rose O. Walsh, Julia B. and Margaret C. O'Connor and Mary C. Nyman; and three brothers, Thomas D., John "Jack" and James O'Connor.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. from the Arthur A. Albini Funeral Home, 1003 Church St., Jessup, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 in Queen of Angels Parish at St. Michael's Church, First Avenue, Jessup. Interment, St. Patrick's Cemetery, Blakely.
