Ruth A. Tucker Cordaro Cooney of Scranton died Friday at Regional Hospital of Scranton following an illness. She was the widow of Harold Cooney.

Born in Dunmore, daughter of the late Marvin and Helen Timms Tucker, she was a lifelong member of the Dunmore United Methodist Church.
Ruth was loved, and will be dearly missed by all.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her sister, Marge Slaboda, brother, Marvin Tucker, niece, Dawn Slaboda, and nephew, Ron Slaboda.
Surviving are her children, Anthony Cardaro Jr., Thomas Cordaro and wife, Mary; Ronald Cordaro and wife, Sue, all of Scranton; and Cynthia Willis, Florida; a brother, Marvin Tucker Jr., Dunmore; a sister, Marjorie Slaboda, Taylor; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Anthony Willis; a brother, Ronald Tucker; a sister, Edna Bennie and spouse, Franklin; and brother-in-law, Stephen Slaboda Jr.
A memorial service is scheduled Saturday at 11 a.m. at Dunmore United Methodist Church, 222 S. Blakely St., Dunmore. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave., Scranton.
No public calling hours are scheduled.
