Franklin Monroe Spry, 76, of Honesdale, died Tuesday at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center, where he resided.

Born June 13, 1937, in Coudersport, son of the late Frederick George and Marion Blow Spry, Franklin was employed at Topps Baseball Cards in Duryea, where he was a press operator. He also worked for some famous area bands, including Tex Ritter and Timmy and Bits and Pieces. Franklin was a member of the Methodist faith.

He was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoying the races.

Surviving are his sons, Robert Spry Sr., Schenectady, N.Y.; Douglas Spry, Hanover; and Donald Spry, Edwardsville; his daughters, Deborah Snyder, Windsor, N.Y.; Donna Acevedo, Scranton; Theresa Rogowski, Laurel Run; and Tammi Lord, Wilkes-Barre; his brothers, Lester and Frederick Gene Spry, both of Binghamton, N.Y.; sisters, Violet Henry, Montrose; Mary Alice Lowe, Binghamton; and Ruth Ann Langevin, West Haven, Conn.; his best friend, Eleanor Hontz, White Mills; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Harry and Howard Spry; and sisters, Frances Hannel and Onnalee Gulie.

The funeral will be Saturday at noon in Hessling Funeral Home Inc., 428 Main St., Honesdale. As per his request, cremation will follow with interment at Indian Orchard Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11 to service time.
