Ernest Radicchi, 85, of Peckville, died Sunday morning at Green Ridge Rehab Center because of complications from an illness. His wife of 46 years, the former Theresa Gertrude Misko, died in 1999.

Born in Peckville, son of the late Thomas and Pierina Piccioli Radicchi, Ernie worked as a salesman at Sonny Boy Bakery. He was a lifelong resident of Peckville and a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and its Holy Name Society. He served in the Army during the Korean War and was a proud member of Shopa-Davey VFW Post 6082.
He was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, who will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He was an avid Yankees fan, and enjoyed the beaches of Treasure Island, Fla., and Chincoteague Island, Va.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas Joseph Radicchi and wife, Ruth, Dickson City; and Ernest Radicchi and wife, Mary, Florida; a daughter, Lisa Holden and husband, Richard, Moscow; a sister, Angela Aebeli and husband, Jack, New York; five grandchildren, Megan, Sara, T.J and Joshua Radicchi and Richard Holden.
The funeral will be Thursday from the James M. Margotta Funeral Home, 1019 Main St., Peckville, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Peckville. Interment, St. John's Cemetery, Jessup.
