Robert Williams, 82, a resident of the Gino J. Merli Veterans Center, died early Wednesday.

Born in West Scranton, son of the late Daniel and Ethel Jacobs Williams, Robert was a proud Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. He was a member of American Legion Post 306, Taylor. Before retirement, he worked in hydraulic maintenance for the Witco Chemical Corp. of Perth Amboy, N.J. Born and raised in West Scranton, he was a member of the former First Baptist Church. He will be dearly missed by those who loved him.
Surviving are a son, Robert A. Williams, Halstead, N.Y.; a brother and best friend, Larry Williams and wife, Shirley, Jefferson Twp.; nieces and nephews; and three grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Jack, Delbert, Daniel and Robert Williams.
The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge. Interment with military honors by the AMVETS honor guard, Spring Brook Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday, 10 until services.
