Rae Jones of Pflugerville, Texas, formerly of Scranton, died Friday, March 28, at home.
The Guest Book is expired.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Jonathan and Kathryn Preziosa Jones, she was educated in Dunmore schools. She was a graduate of Marywood Seminary, class of 1957. She later made her residence in Pflugerville. Before retirement, she was employed as a coding specialist for Austin Diagnostic Clinic of Austin and she volunteered for HandCrafts Unlimited, Georgetown.
She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She enjoyed riding her motorcycle wearing her black leather pants, listening to country-western music, doing crafts and crocheting. She was a person known for doing her own thing and telling it like it is. One of her favorite sayings was, "If you don't like my answer, don't ask the question." She was a very charitable person, always willing to help anyone in need, donating to any cause, especially to many children's clothing drives. She was a lover of Siamese cats and feeding her fish in their huge aquarium. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Surviving are two daughters, Terri Mulvey and husband, Don, Georgetown, Texas; Candie Conway and husband, Mike, Erie, Pa.; a son, Dale Gilmore and wife, Stephanie, Scranton; eight grandchildren; a great-grandson; a sister, Kathy Mailen and husband, Paul, Scranton; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Peg Tompkins.
