Stella Litwin, 89, of Tunkhannock, formerly of Auburn Twp., died Thursday morning at home. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Anthony Litwin, in 1988.

Born in Olyphant on Nov. 7, 1924, daughter of the late Cornelius and Anastasia Jarovozoska Senkow, she graduated from Rush High School, class of 1942, and worked at several garment and shoe factories over the years. She was a member of the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Tunkhannock.
She is survived by two sons, Anthony Litwin Jr. and his wife, Linda, Springville; and Charles Litwin and his wife, Marie, Nicholson; grandchildren, Paul and wife, Paula Litwin; Meredith and husband, Ryan Johnson; John and wife, Leslie Litwin; Aileen and husband, Phil Shafer; Charles Jr. and wife, Jaclyn Litwin; Rebekah and husband, Brian Stanco; and Marja and husband, Shawn Robbins; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Bertha S. Litwin, in 1974; and two brothers, Walter and Gerald Senkow.
Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Nativity BVM, Tunkhannock. Friends may go directly to the church. Interment, St. Joachim's Cemetery, Meshoppen.
Friends may call Monday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Harding–Litwin Funeral Home, 123 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock.
