Betty J. Scholla, 83, of Dunmore, passed away peacefully on Wednesday surrounded by her loving family after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Dunmore, daughter of the late Rudolph and Hanna Gettings Scholla, she was a graduate of Dunmore High School, class of 1947. Betty was a member of Christ the King Church and Immaculate Conception Church. She was a longtime employee of the University of Scranton in the Annual Fund Department. Her fun-loving spirit and quick wit brightened many lives.
Betty is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including Joan Ardizoni, Lynn Fidiam and Clem and Ed Palevich.
She was also preceded in death by her four sisters, Mary Farrell, Mimi Palevich, Ann Ryan and Jean Ardizoni; and three brothers, Bob, Frank and Billy Scholla.
The funeral will be Tuesday from the Albert P. O'Donnell Funeral Home, 2025 Green Ridge St., Dunmore, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 801 Taylor Ave., Scranton. Interment, St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow.
