Carol M. Stupak Mackarevich of Jefferson Twp. died Friday evening at home. She and her husband, Andrew J. Mackarevich Sr., observed their 44th wedding anniversary on April 18.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Paul and Mary Stupak, she made her residence in Avoca and was a graduate of Pittston High School. Before her retirement, she was employed as a purchasing clerk for the Tobyhanna Army Depot. She was a very active member of St. Catherine of Siena Church, Moscow, serving as a Eucharistic minister.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She enjoyed family gatherings and was very proud of her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Surviving are a son, Andrew Jr. and wife, Christina, Spring Brook Twp.; three grandchildren, Daulton, Antonia and Morgan; a sister, Edna Drasba, Hancock, N.H.; nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Stupak.
Funeral services are private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements provided by the Carl J. Savino Funeral Home, 157 S. Main Ave., Scranton.
