Barbara "Cookie" Rosencrans Kovalick of North Scranton died Monday morning at Regional Hospital of Scranton. Her first husband, Paul Davies, died April 14, 1984. She and her second husband, John A. Kovalick, celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary on Nov. 1.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Otto and Florence Bell Rosencrans, she was educated in Scranton schools and was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School. Before retirement, she was employed as a waitress for Boot's Donuts on Keyser Avenue in North Scranton. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church of Green Ridge.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was always willing to help anyone in need and loved her boys. She was an avid bowler, bowling in the "Big Four Mixed League" at Green Ridge Lanes. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Also surviving are sons, Paul Davies, Scranton; Richard Davies and wife, Cindy, Scranton; Jerry Davies and wife, Dawn, Scranton; Scott Davies and wife, Cheryl, Throop; Ryan Davies and wife, Chris, Archbald; Roger "OJ" Gabriel, Fleetville; and Jeff Kovalick, Jenningsville, Pa.; daughters, June Kovalick, Jenningsville; Julie Murphy and husband, Randy, Noxen; Jonni Kovalick, Factoryville; 25 grandchildren; a sister, Donna Gail Taylor and husband, John, Scranton; a brother, Teddy Rosencrans and wife, Juanita, Scranton; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews including, Jo Ellen Carroll Mackey.

She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Myrtle Lewis, Betty Morgan and Beverly Preschutti; and two brothers, Jack Rosencrans and Arthur Rosencrans.

The funeral will be Thursday with services at 9:30 a.m. in the Carl J. Savino Funeral Home, 157 S. Main Ave., Scranton, by the Rev. Arthur Davis, pastor, Asbury United Methodist Church. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.

Friends may call Wednesday, 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hosptial, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
