Henry "Hank" J. Verboys, 92, of Clifford Twp., died Monday at the Forest City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. His wife is the former Marian Shedlauskas.

Born in Clifford Twp., son of the late Frank and Anna Novak Verboys, he was a member of Ascension Parish, Forest City. He was a graduate of the Burns School, Elkdale. He was retired from the Endicott-Johnson Shoe Factory, Forest City. He was also a retired equipment operator for PennDOT and several other local contractors. He was a member of the NRA, the Slovenian National Benefits Society and the American Slovenian Heritage Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing the banjo and mandolin with his group of friends.
Surviving are a son, James and wife, Joanne, Clifford Twp.; a daughter, Cynthia Lauriha and husband, James, Moscow; a sister, Dorothy Gordon and husband, Willard, Barnegat, N.J.; nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Frances Matircho, Theresa Hoholick, Johanna Verboys and Tillie Parkinson; and three brothers, Frank, Ludwig and Anthony.
The funeral will be Thursday with Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Delaware Street, Forest City. A private family viewing will be held. Everyone attending the funeral is asked to go directly to the church. Interment will be later in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Forest City.
