Esther A. Murphy, 83, of Sun City Center, Fla., died Saturday afternoon at Sun City Hospice. She was the widow of Joseph James Paul Murphy, who died Oct. 5, 1986.

Born in Jessup, daughter of the late Anacleto and Maria Alunni Zebi, she attended Jessup schools and after marriage lived in Orange, N.J. before moving to Sun City Center two months ago. She was employed as a supervisor for Knoll Pharmaceuticals in New Jersey before retirement, and was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving are sons, Joseph Murphy and wife, Rosemary, Greensboro, N.C.; and Richard Murphy and wife, Jessica, Bradenton, Fla.; grandchildren, Joseph Nunzio Murphy; and Erin Maria Murphy Boyle and husband, Steve; Samantha Ann Murphy and Eric Jonathan Murphy; great-grandchildren, Rachel and Allison Murphy, and Brennan Boyle; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Baldino "Zeb" Zebi; and sisters, Bertha Coccodrilli, Dea Lukeski and Della Vanko.
The funeral will be Wednesday from the Louis J. Rapoch Funeral Home, 420 Church St., Archbald, with Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. in St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Interment, St. John's Cemetery, Jessup.
