Alice Kavalow, 88, of Throop, died Tuesday morning at Allied Skilled Nursing Center. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Paul.

A lifelong resident of Throop, daughter of the late Stanley and Pauline Semboj Stojanowski, she graduated from St. Patrick's High School, Olyphant and also graduated from Lackawanna Business College. Before her retirement, she was employed as a secretary by Nivert Metal, Throop. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish at St. Anthony's Church, Throop.
The family would like to thank the staff at Allied for all the care given to Alice.
Also surviving are a son, Mark and wife, Dorothy; three grandchildren, Jared, Alex and Rebecca; and a great-granddaughter, Emma.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Stanley.
The funeral will be Friday at 9 a.m. from the John F. Glinsky Funeral Home, 445 Sanderson St., Throop, with Mass at 9:30 in Blessed Sacrament Parish at St. Anthony's Church, Throop. Interment, St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow.
