Floyd A. Zawacki, 87, of Olyphant, died Tuesday at Moses Taylor Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Rose Mecca.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Anthony and Cecelia Ostroski Zawacki, he was educated in the Scranton School District. He was a veteran of the Army, having served during World War II. Before his retirement, he was employed by the Cinram Corporation. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Dunmore.
He loved to travel, had a great love for all his dogs and last but not least, he enjoyed his hand radio that he listened to every night.
Surviving are nieces and nephews, James and Teresa Skaluba, his caregivers; Sandy Gabriel and Jean, Paul and Fred Skaluba; and many great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Skaluba; and two nephews, Robert and David Skaluba.

Friends may call on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Albert P. O'Donnell Funeral Home, 2025 Green Ridge St., Dunmore. Interment at St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow, will be private.
