Patricia Martin, 55, of Wilkes-Barre, died Wednesday at home. She was the wife of Kenneth Martin.

Born in New Brunswick, N.J., daughter of the late Robert "Nubby" and Ruth Ann Thompson Sears, she was a 1976 graduate of Carbondale Area High School and a member of the Eastern Star in New Brunswick. She was a licensed practical nurse, having worked for a number of years at the Gino J. Merli Veterans Center, Scranton.
She was very loving and caring person who enjoyed taking care of her patients.
Also surviving are a daughter, Jennifer Bell and husband, Damion, Wilkes-Barre; a stepdaughter, Heather Martin, Raritan, N.J.; a stepson, Eric Martin, Freeland; three brothers, William Sears and companion, Ruth Reeser, Scranton; Robert Sears and wife, Carmella, Woodbridge, Va.; and James Sears and wife, Rosa, Newark, N.J.; two sisters, Ann Perry and husband, Frank "Rodi," Carbondale; and Margaret Opalka and husband, Robert, Scott Twp.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
As per her request, cremation was held. Graveside services will be held May 17 at 11 a.m. in Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill. Arrangements are by the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home Inc., 55 Lincoln Ave., Carbondale.
