Johanna Maria Mirro, 96, of Old Forge and formerly of Pittston, died Friday in the Allied Skilled Nursing Facility, Scranton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerard John Mirro.

Born in Old Forge, daughter of the late Calogero and Rose Gannaci Rizzo, she was a 1936 graduate of Old Forge High School, and before retirement, was employed in the garment industry.
Surviving are her children, Angela Lee and husband, Terry, Alpharetta, Ga.; Marilyn Chichilla and husband, Tony, West Pittston; Jerry Mirro and wife, Nancy, Pittston; and Debbie Thompson and husband, Rick, Coral Springs, Fla.; grandchildren, Joshua, Jeremy, Jason, Kristan, Jonathan and Jillian; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters.
