Mercedes Rinaldi, 101, of Eynon, died Monday at Mid Valley Health Care Center. She was the widow of Michael Rinaldi.

Born in Eynon, daughter of the late Paul and Jennie Pellegrini Puletti, she attended Eynon schools, and was employed in the local garment industry. She lived in Eynon most of her life, was a member of Christ the King Parish, St. Mary of Czestochowa Church and was very active in the Confraternity of Christian Mothers. She always treated her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews like they were her own children. She was a wonderful gardener, and will be missed dearly but never forgotten.

She is survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews including her caregivers, Joan Piersimoni, Archbald; and Barbara Jones, Baylors Lake.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Peter and Frank Puletti; and five sisters, Zell Rogari, Doris Scoblick, Elda Sebastianelli, Clara Puletti and Esther Cecere.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Mid Valley Health Care Center for all of their kindness, compassion ad love extended toward Mercedes and her family during her stay at the facility.

The funeral will be Thursday from the James M. Margotta Funeral Home, 1019 Main St., Peckville, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Archbald. Entombment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.

Friends will be received from 8:30 to 9:30 at the church.
