Benjamin "Buddy" F. Mastro, 87, of Dunmore, died Monday morning at home. His wife, Ann Mastro, died Nov. 18, 2001. The couple had been married for 53 years.

Born in Dunmore, son of the late Orazio and Rose Domenick Mastro, he attended Dunmore public schools. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish, Dunmore, and was a Navy veteran of World War II. Before retirement, he was a carpenter for 60 years and a lifetime member of the Carpenter Local 645.

He was a past president of the Volunteer Fire Relief Association in Dunmore and a fixture at the Dunmore Corners, where he enjoyed visiting all the local establishments. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Surviving are daughters, Ann Marie Donato and Marlene Mastro and husband, Paul Tyrrell; a son, Benjamin A., all of Dunmore; grandchildren, Randy and Allie Donato; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Claire Sardella; and brothers, Joseph and Horace Mastro.

The funeral will be Thursday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Chestnut Street, Dunmore. Interment, Dunmore Cemetery.

Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
