Gladys (Welsh) Mang, 86, of Honesdale, died Wednesday at Bethany Village. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Edward Mang, on Aug. 21, 2004.

Born Sept. 26, 1927, in Tyler Hill, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Roberta Lord Welsh. A graduate of Damascus High School, she later graduated from Empire Beauty School, and ran a beauty shop out of her home for several years.
She was a very caring person who loved her family. She enjoyed cooking and baking.
She is survived by her son, Paul Mang and wife, Susan, Honesdale; her sister, Doris Bryant, Calkins; grandchildren, Scott Mang and wife, Megan; Andrea Nakielny and husband, Eric; and Lindsey Pender and husband, Timothy; seven great-grandchildren, nieces and a nephew.
The family would like to thank the staff of Bethany Village and the Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their special care.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 4 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church of Honesdale. Interment, Bethany Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Hessling Funeral Home Inc., 428 Main St., Honesdale.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2 until the service at the church.
