Frank Evanitsky, 92, formerly of Olyphant, died Friday at the Lackawanna Health and Rehab Center, Peckville. His wife, the former Margaret Peterson, died on Jan. 23, 2002.

Born in Olyphant, son of the late John and Agnes Shutinski Evanitsky, he was a graduate of Olyphant High School, and was employed as a furnace operator at the Chamberlain Munition Mfg. Co., Scranton. He was a member of SS. Cyril & Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church, Olyphant.
Frank had a great love for all animals, but especially dogs. He loved his little Molly.
He is survived by his daughter, Michaelene Davis and husband, Bill, Olyphant; a grandchild; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Joseph, Walter, Stanley and John; and three sisters, Helen Turner, Nell Dula and Mary Evanitsky.
The family would like to thank the nurses and entire staff in "D" wing at the Lackawanna Health and Rehab Center. Their kindness, love and wonderful care is sincerely and gratefully appreciated.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Michael Wargo Jr. Funeral Home, 812 E. Scott St., Olyphant, with Divine Liturgy at 10 in SS. Cyril & Methodius Church, to be celebrated by the Rev. Nestor Iwasiw. Interment, parish cemetery, Peckville.
Friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. Parastas service will be at 6.
