James Fofi, 53, of Waymart and formerly of Upper Powderly Street, Carbondale, died Tuesday at home after a brief illness.

Born May 14, 1961, in Carbondale, son of Rose Marie Warhola Fofi of Waymart and the late Eugene Fofi Sr., Jimmy was a very special person who was very loving and caring. He was a wonderful child and his mother's pride and joy. He will be deeply missed by his loving family, especially his mom who took care of him everyday for the past 53 years.
Also surviving are a niece, Jennifer Ostroski and husband, Mark, Waymart; a nephew, Joseph Fofi and wife, Angela, Archbald; a niece, Michelle Fofi, Olyphant; several aunts and uncles.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Fofi Jr.; and a sister, Donna Marie Howell.
The funeral will be Saturday at 9 a.m. from the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., Farview and 41st streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 N. Church St., Carbondale. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Twp.
