Robert J. Russo, 58, of Lake Ariel, died Monday under the care of the VNA Hospice Inpatient Unit at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Aida Russo.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Sept. 4, 1955, son of Mary Ragonese Russo, Robert led a career in security. He worked at Rikers Island Prison, for Homeland Security and most recently at Pocono Springs before his illness. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus - Lake Ariel Council, and was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, woodworking and boxing. He'll be long remembered for his sense of humor, and he'll also leave behind his adoring dog, Winkey. Robert will be dearly missed.
Also surviving are his three sons, Anthony and Chris Russo, both of Lake Ariel; and Daniel Quinones and wife, Marcia of Phillipsport, N.Y.; siblings, Donald, Denise and Roberta; two grandchildren, Madison and Elisia; many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Gina Russo.
