Bernice Gaura, 74, of the Greenwood section of Moosic, died Tuesday morning at Regional Hospital of Scranton. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, Leonard "Archie" Gaura, on Nov. 11, 2009.

Born in Taylor on July 12, 1939, daughter of the late Frank, Sr., and Violet Kwak Godlewski, Bernice was a graduate of the former Taylor High School, class of 1957. Before her retirement, she worked as a bookkeeper for Linden Dress Factory and Kline Binding Co. She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish. She enjoyed camping and fishing and adored her Pomeranian, "Sparky." She will be dearly missed by those who loved her.

She is survived by her siblings: sisters, Joan Mulherin, Scranton; and Patricia Valencia and husband, Joseph, Moosic; and brothers, Robert Godlewski, Moosic; Frank Godlewski Jr. and wife, Millie, Taylor; and Ronald Godlewski and wife, Dolly, Old Forge; many nieces and nephews.

Her family would like to thank the entire Intensive Care staff, especially Diane, of Regional Hospital in Scranton for the care given to both Bernice and her family during her stay.

The funeral will be Friday at 9:30 a.m. from the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Divine Mercy Parish, 312 Davis St., Scranton, to be celebrated by the Rev. Francis L. Pauselli, pastor. Interment will follow in St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow.
