Dawn L. Murray Dean, 43, of Saylorsburg, lost her fierce and intense battle with cancer Wednesday at Geisinger South Hospital in Wilkes-Barre. She was the wife of Brian Dean and they had been married for thirteen years.

Born in Pompton Plains, New Jersey, she was the daughter of Jo Anne Vadella Murray and Robert Murray. Dawn was a 1988 graduate of Roxbury High School in Succasunna, N.J. and she attended beauty school and received a certificate in nail design. Prior to her illness, she worked at Phillips Pet Food in Easton. Dawn embraced love, family and friends, and touched many lives by her caring and selfless attitude towards others.
Also surviving are a daughter, Brianna Dean; a sister, Michelle Murray Tumminelli and her husband, Michael; mother-in-law, Janet Dean; brothers-in-law, Matt and Billy Joe Dean; aunt, Cindy Vadella Campbell and her husband, Todd; niece, Samantha Dean; nephews, Gavin Tumminelli and Jacob, Matthew and Tommy Dean; many great-aunts and uncles; and cousins including Lynn Homsky, Chris Stefursky and Ryan Campbell.
She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Joseph and Katie Call Vadella.
A memorial service and celebration of Dawn's life will be held at a later date. Dawn's immediate family will notify family and friends of that date. Arrangements by Robert E. Decker Funeral Home, Peckville, Pa.
