Lorenzo C. (Larry) Galella, 56, of Harding, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, June 16, 2014. Born to the late Pasquale (Patsy) and Henrietta (Clicerio) Galella on December 11, 1957, he was formerly of Hilldale, Plains.

He graduated from James M. Coughlin High School and Wilkes-Barre Vocational Technical School in 1975 with a specialization in welding. Passionate about his work, Larry was the Director of Field Operations at McGregor Industries.

Happily married to his high school sweetheart, Patricia (Patti Morgan) Galella, for 34 years, Larry was a devoted husband and father, and loyal friend to all.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Lorenza (Lori Galella) Dunnigan; son-in-law, Matthew, and future granddaughter, Santa Monica, Calif.; daughter, Christina Galella and future-son-in-law, Christopher Donati, Old Forge; nephew, Michael Balent, Sarasota, Fla.; sister-in-law, Janice Kline, Wilkes-Barre; sister, Lorraine Joseph, Plains; and numerous cousins.

Larry was an avid Penn State fan and also loved to cook, travel, collect antiques and spend time with his cherished family. He was an active lifetime member of St. Barbara Parish, Exeter, and enjoyed giving back to his community. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge, West Pittston, and Fox Hill Country Club.

Funeral services will be Friday, June 20, 2014, at 9 a.m. from the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 251 William St., Pittston, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Barbara Parish, 28 Memorial Ave., Exeter. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.
