Peter P. "Pants" Ghilardi, 81, of Jessup, died Wednesday, June 18, 2014 in Geisinger CMC Hospice, Scranton, surrounded by his loving family. His wife is the former Mary Fumanti and they would have celebrated 45 years of marriage on September 25, 2014.

Born on January 14, 1933, he was the son of the late Joseph and Maria Mancini Ghilardi. He was a graduate of Jessup High School, Class of 1951.
He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 542 for 58 years and worked on numerous construction projects in Lackawanna and Luzerne Counties.
He was a member of Queen of Angels Parish, Jessup. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Peter P. Ghilardi Jr., in April 1982; brothers, Joseph Ghilardi and Frank Ghilardi; sisters, Mary Santarelli and Madelyn Cicilioni.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Mary Fumanti Ghilardi, are daughters, Marisa and her husband, Brian Lynch, Chester Springs; and Maria Caldara, Peckville; grandchildren, Shana Lynch Denne and her husband, Frederick Francis Denne IV (Rick), Philadelphia; Shane Peter Lynch, Monroeville; Shaylyn Christie Lynch, Chester Springs; Lina Caldara, Peckville; and Gino Caldara, Peckville; sister, Rose Marchegiani, Jessup; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. from the Arthur A. Albini Funeral Home, 1003 Church Street, Jessup, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Queen of Angels Parish at St. Michael Church, 322 First Avenue, Jessup. Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Mausoleum, Montdale.
