Eleanor M. Mulligan, of the Greenwood section of Moosic, Pa., passed away peacefully Thursday, June 19, at Mountain View Care Center, with her family at her side. She was the wife of the late James T. Mulligan Sr.

Born in Moosic, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Vetz Shanoski. She was a lifelong member of Saint Stanislaus Polish National Catholic Cathedral. A graduate of Moosic High School, she was a homemaker and worked in retail sales prior to retirement. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Surviving are her daughter, Patricia and husband, Thomas King of Taylor, Pa.; and son, James Mulligan Jr. and wife, Tara of Scranton; a brother, Chester Boyarsky, Paducah, Ky.; and her niece, Susan Nieminski, Grosse Pointe, Mich., who was like a daughter; 12 grandchildren, David and wife, Amanda; Jennifer and Michael King, Tyler, Phoebe, Hunter, Will, Lily, Zoe, Max, Tucker and Finn Mulligan.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Victoria Flowers and Florence Stravinsky; brothers, Theodore, Carl John, Walter and Rev. Edmund Shanoski, and Henry Boyarsky.
The family extends their sincere appreciation to the staff at Mt. View Care Center for their excellent care and compassion to their mother.
A Mass of Christain Burial will be offered on Tuesday, June 24 in Saint Stanislaus Polish National Catholic Cathedral at 12:45 p.m.
Friends may call Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Joseph W. Sznyter Funeral Home, 1101 Prospect Ave., Scranton.
Entombment will follow in Saint Stanislaus Polish National Catholic Cemetery. Donations can be made to "Vikings Helping Vikings," c/o Paul Brennan, Storr and Davis Sts., Taylor, Pa.
