Dianne Legg, 64, a longtime resident of Covington Twp., died Thursday at home after a long, courageous battle with breast cancer. She and her husband, William E. Legg, would have celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary this September.

Born in Scranton, daughter of Mae Reid Shaffer, Scranton, and the late Frank Shaffer, she attended North Pocono schools. She was a personal care aide at St. Mary's Villa Residence, Elmhurst.
Dianne loved word search puzzles, was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed car shows. She would never miss an opportunity to go out for dinner and a movie with "The Girls."
Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are a son, Kenneth Legg and wife, Denise, Covington Twp.; three brothers, Frank Shaffer and wife, Rose, Moscow; Larry Shaffer and wife, Janice, Spring Brook Twp.; and Jerry Shaffer and wife, Lorie, Whites Crossing; a brother-in-law, Ron Legg Sr., Covington Twp.; a grandson, Kenny Legg, Covington Twp.; a granddaughter, Danielle Gaus and husband, Joe, Gouldsboro; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and the family dog, Abbie.
The funeral will be Monday at 10 a.m. at the Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 3 First St., Spring Book Twp., to be officiated by the Rev. Willard Black. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst Twp.
A viewing will be held Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
