Carolyn "Kay" Hughes, 72, Carbondale, died Thursday at Commonwealth Hospice, Regional Hospital of Scranton. Her husband, Glen Hughes, died in 1981.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Floyd and Bette Davis Daley, she was a member of the United Methodist Church, Carbondale.
Carolyn enjoyed attending her grandsons' sporting events, and especially loved watching them play football. She was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys.
Surviving are a son, Glen Hughes Jr. and wife, Susan, Fell Twp.; two daughters, Barbara Dombrowski and companion, Ed Penzone, Carbondale; and Tori Hughes, Carbondale; two grandsons, Glen and Bailey Hughes, Fell Twp.; a brother, William "Snapper" Daley and wife, Judy, Carbondale; an aunt, Joan Davis, Mayfield; a brother-in-law, Morgan Hughes, New Jersey; a sister-in-law, Delores Sheare, Carbondale; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Monday with services at 9:30 a.m. at the Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home, 74 N. Main St., Carbondale. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
Friends may call Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m.
