Edward Francis Longo Jr. (Ned), 53, of Windsor, N.Y., passed away unexpectedly on the afternoon of July 9, 2014, in Windsor. Ed was born Jan. 9, 1961, in Scranton, Pa.

Ed was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Claire (Marzani) Longo; and many close family and friends.

Ed is survived by his wife, Lisa (Miller), Windsor; sister, Dianne Longo, Mountaintop, Pa.; son, Edward III and his wife, Jennifer, Vestal, N.Y.; stepchildren, Audrey (Jake) Dupont, Windsor; and Amber (Wilson) Batista; his little buddy; granddaughter, Isabella, Binghamton, N.Y.; and mother of his son, Diana Longo, Vestal.

Ed was a graduate of Vestal High School. Following in his father's footsteps, Ed was employed by Binghamton University in the psychology and biology departments as the lab equipment designer. He was a lifelong machinist, hunter, fisherman, knife maker, collector, gunsmith, marksman, animal lover, motorcycle fabricator and rider. He was a dedicated fan of his son-in-law Wilson Batista's professional baseball career and the N.Y. Yankees. Ed was the co-founder of Vestal Center Motorcycle Club, president of the Windsor Sportsmen's Association, NRA recruiter and a top world-ranked benchrest shooter. An avid dog lover, Ed was predeceased by his three dogs, Bear, Misty and Jack; along with surviving dogs, Willie and Girlie.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, July 15, 2014, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home LLC, 765 Main St., Vestal. A memorial Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Main Street, Vestal.
