Marian "Midge" Evans, passed away Saturday evening in Regional Hospital of Scranton surrounded by her loving children.

Born 1938 in Waterloo, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Dorothy Potter Leisenring. She was a graduate of Waterloo Central High School and a member of Embury United Methodist Church. Midge was a self-employed hairdresser and was also involved in marketing and sales.

Midge lived for her grandchildren. She enjoyed going to the beach and volunteering at the Scranton Cultural Center at Masonic Temple.

Surviving are daughters, Kathy DeSandis and her husband, Robert, Clarks Summit; Karen Lotz and her husband, Joseph; and Laurie Kucharski, all of Scranton; sons, Richard Evans, Plantation, Fla.; and Mark Marquart and his wife, Debra, Waterloo, N.Y.; a sister, Charlene Ramage, Pittston; grandchildren, Ashley and Sierra DeSandis, Richard and Frank Kucharski, Austin, Kiley and Ian Lotz, William and Matthew Evans, Christopher Marquart and his wife, Melissa; and Kyle Marquart and his wife, Vanessa; and two great-grandchildren, Allen and Kelsey Marquart.

She was also preceded 
in death by brothers, 
William, Bernard and Howard; and sisters, Frances and Louella.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Embury United Methodist Church, 942 S. Main Ave., Scranton, with the Rev. Calvin Rich, officiating. All attending the funeral are asked to go directly to the church.

Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Vanston & James Funeral Home, 1401 Ash St., Scranton. Interment, Abington Hills Cemetery, South Abington Twp.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Embury United Methodist Church, 942 S. Main Ave., Scranton, PA 18504.
