Steven P. Perfilio, D.C., 53, of South Abington Twp., died Thursday evening at the Regional Hospital of Scranton, surrounded by his loving family. He and his wife, the former Marguerite Perrick, celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary Sept. 12.

He was born in Scranton, son of Beverly Arp Perfilio of Clarks Summit and the late Dr. Thomas P. Perfilio. He was educated in Abington schools, and was a 1979 graduate of Abington Heights High School. He was a graduate of Keystone Junior College and the Palmer College of Chiropractics, Davenport, Iowa, class of 1984.
Before his illness, he enjoyed playing golf with his brothers. His best game of golf occurred July 27, 1996, when he made a hole-in-one on the 16th hole, playing in a tournament with his brothers. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and cheering for the New York Yankees and the New York Football Giants. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Also surviving are three brothers, Allan and wife, Chris, Clarks Summit; Paul, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and Patrick and wife, Gayle, Clarks Summit; four nieces, Katherine, Melissa, Alexandra and Jenna; and a mother-in-law, Rita Perrick, Dunmore.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Thomas P. Perfilio Jr.
The funeral will be Monday with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, St. Paul of the Cross Parish, Genet Street, South Scranton.
Friends may call Monday morning in the church from 9 a.m. until time of Mass. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
