Armond Marconi, 91, a resident of Lackawanna Health & Rehab, died Sunday.

A lifelong resident of Peckville and Blakely area, son of the late Ada Fortini Marconi and Domenic Marconi, he was a veteran of the Navy, surviving the torpedoing of his LST ship during World War II. Armond worked many years as a chef at the Treadway on Route 6. He developed and produced industrial soaps for area businesses. He was an avid follower of Blakley and Valley View football teams.

He was also preceded in death by brothers, Eugene and Raymond Marconi; and a sister, Eleanor Freeman.

The funeral will be Friday at 1 p.m. with a graveside service at St. John's Cemetery, Jessup.
