Olga VanLuvender, 85, of Moosic, died Wednesday morning under the care of the VNA Hospice Inpatient Unit at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. She is survived by her beloved husband, Paul VanLuvender Sr. Wed on Aug. 28, 1948, the couple was married for more than 65 years.

Born in West Scranton on Feb. 25, 1929, daughter of the late Alex and Julia Hnatew Pavluchuk, Olga was educated in West Scranton schools. She had worked at Preferred Meals in Moosic before serving as longtime lunch lady at West Scranton Intermediate School, before her retirement. She and her husband attended Elm Park United Methodist Church in Scranton. An avid traveler, she had fond memories of taking several cruises and trips to Florida. She spent a lot of time at her camper on Lake Moc-A-Tek, as well as boating on her boat at Lake Wallenpaupack. She also never missed a show of a local Beatles tribute band. Olga was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her children: daughter, Debbie VanLuvender Swingle, Moosic; and son, Bruce VanLuvender and wife, Nicole, Old Forge; brother, Leo Pavluchuk, Buffalo, N.Y.; six grandchildren, Paul III and Tracy VanLuvender; Dan Butler and companion, Angela Chouinard; Aiden, Avery and Olivia VanLuvender; and a great-granddaughter, Madyson Kelley.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Paul VanLuvender; siblings, Joseph Pavluchuk and Irene Bird; and a granddaughter, Colleen Butler.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge. Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.

Relatives and friends may pay their respects Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. With gratitude for the wonderful care given to both Olga and her family, memorial contributions are asked to be made to the Visiting Nurse's Association's Memorial Fund, 301 Delaware Ave., Olyphant, 18447.
