Evelyn Ellen Smith, Waverly, went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday morning at the Clarks Summit Senior Living, where she was residing. She was the widow of Henry J. Smith, who was called home with the Lord in 2003.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Esther Egroff Marshall.
Surviving are two daughters, Kimberly Ryan, Oxford, Conn.; and Candace Haft, Factoryville, Pa.; three grandchildren, Michaela, Cameron and Amanda; and a sister, Thelma Lyons, Toms River, N.J.
Evelyn was a charter member, along with her husband, at Faith Community Church in Glenburn, Pa., where she also served as an organist for more than 25 years. She played for many weddings, vocal and instrumental soloists, and enjoyed accompanying the choir. She also served as organist at the Puritan Congregational Church, West Market Street, Scranton, for more than 10 years, and briefly at Country Alliance Church, Clarks Summit.
She had a deep abiding faith in Christ and his saving grace. She spoke often of her trust in the Lord and his provision for her every need.
Her memorial service will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, with services by the Rev. Gerald Major III. Interment will be at a later date in Shady Lane Cemetery.
Friends may call on Sunday from noon until the time of the service at the funeral home.
