Kendall Peck, 78, of Scott Twp, died Saturday night at Forest City Nursing Home. His widow is the former Sandra Roberts.

Born in Carbondale, son of the late William Stratton and Ruth Smith Peck, he was a member of Montdale United Methodist Church. He was employed by Pennsylvania Gas and Water Co. for 30 years before retirement. He and his wife owned and operated Peck's Discount Store, Scott Twp., for 28 years.
He enjoyed riding his tractors and showing them and his cars at antique car and tractor shows. He was a loving father and loved the children in the neighborhood. He enjoyed his garden and helped his friends with gardens and lawns if they had problems. He will be surely missed by them all.
Also surviving are a sister, Doris Ferko, Clarks Summit; several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by two sons, Daniel and William; and a brother, Robert.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at noon in the Battenberg Funeral Home, 363 Washington Ave., Jermyn, with the Rev. Arthur Davis, pastor, Asbury United Methodist Church, Scranton. Interment, Valley View Cemetery, Montdale.
Friends may call Tuesday, 5 to 8 p.m.
