Ann Taylor, 89, of Carbondale, died Monday at Pottsville Hospital, Pottsville, Pa.

Born in Carbondale, Pa, daughter of Frank and Anna Lash, she was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale. After graduating form high school, she attended Nurses Training in Scranton and received her degree. Ann moved to Pottsville, Pa., where she worked as head nurse in the operating room. Ann worked at the hospital for 45 years and retired in 1986, After leaving the hospital, Ann worked part-time for Dr. Lou assisting in eye care. During the early part of her career, Ann met James Taylor and they were married in Saint Michael's Church, Simpson, Pa. They were married for 45 years. Ann's husband James passed away 2005, and is buried at Indiantown Gap. Ann was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church of Schuylkill Haven, Pa. Ann lived in Pottsville 60 years. Ann will be cremated and her Ashes are to be buried with her husband, James.
There were nine siblings in the Lash family, six sisters and three brothers. Surviving are two brothers, Joseph Lash of Santa Rosa, Calif.; and John Lash Sr. of Binghamton, N.Y.; three sisters, Mildred Sefchik, Justus, Pa.; Helen Gibney, Waymart, Pa.; Rosalie Hauser, Shiller Park, Ill.; Scott Taylor, the nephew of James Taylor, currently resides in Frackville, Pa. with his wife, Taren and two daughters. Ann was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Lash, Bernadine Muhr and brother, Frank Lash.
There will be no viewing but a Mass service will be held August 18, 2014 at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church. All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, 201 Randel Street, Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972, in Ann's memory.
