Brian A. Mattern of Scranton died Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville surrounded by his family.

Born in Scranton, he was the loving son of Alyce L. Jordan Mattern and Robert C. Mattern Sr. A graduate of West Scranton High School, he was employed by Allied Services Workshop for 25 years. He was a member of Hickory Street Presbyterian Church.

Brian enjoyed watching WWF wrestling, bowling, dancing, riding his go-kart, video games, the Glider Diner and music.

Brian's family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Geisinger Community Medical Center and Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Also surviving are three brothers, Robert C. Mattern Jr. and wife, Karen, Spring Brook Twp.; Brett Mattern and wife, Michele, Scranton; and Jason B. Mattern and wife, Maritza, New York City; nieces, Gretchen and Emily Mattern; nephews, Aaron, Robbie and Colton Mattern; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave., Scranton, with the Rev. Dr. Stuart T. Wilson, pastor of Hickory Street Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment, Abington Hills Cemetery, South Abington Twp.
