Francis J. Brogan, 62, Farmington Hills, Mich., died Thursday.

Born in Scranton, son of Sally E. Brogan of Clarks Green and the late John F. Brogan, he was a graduate of Bishop Egan High School in Levittown, and received a bachelor's degree in economics from Rider College in New Jersey. After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh in 1975 with a master's degree in business administration, he was employed by the Ford Motor Co. until his retirement in 2007.

Frank worked on the finance side of the automotive business at Ford World Headquarters in Dearborn, Mich., and for a time in Mexico City. He lived and worked for extended periods of time in Australia and Thailand, where he traveled throughout the Pacific. At the time of his retirement, he was director of finance and planning at Ford Credit Asia Pacific Region.

Frank was a good man. A warm and kind son, brother, uncle and friend, he was funny, and had a generous nature. You could always count on him to be there. When Frank made friends, they were friends for a lifetime.

He loved the Philadelphia Phillies and Detroit Tigers. His idea of a perfect vacation was going to Florida for spring training to watch his favorite teams.

Whenever he visited, Frank enjoyed many hours caring for his mom's garden. He shared top billing with his mom as the family whiz at crosswords.

Also surviving are his sister, Dr. Mary R. Brogan, Connecticut; his nephew, John M. Brogan, Switzerland; his nieces, Julie Brogan Lira and husband, Oscar, and their daughter, Eva, Florida; and Dr. Kathryn Brogan Hartlieb and husband, Kurt, Florida; and numerous cousins and friends, who meant the world to him.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, John F. Brogan Jr.; and his sister-in-law, Karen M. Brogan.

The funeral will be Thursday at 8:30 a.m. from the Arthur A. Albini Funeral Home, 1003 Church St., Jessup, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Queen of Angels Parish in St. Michael's Church, First Avenue, Jessup. Interment, St. Patrick's Cemetery, Blakely.

Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
