Michael F. Leach, an Elmhurst resident, died Thursday at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. He is survived by his wife, the former Jane Santarsiero.

Born in Queens, N.Y., son of the late William and Ann Ruggiero Leach, he was educated in New York schools, and was also a graduate of culinary school. He was presently employed at the Elmhurst Country Club. Mike was previously the proprietor of Dr. Generosity, Spruce Street, Chatterbox Kitchen, Oak Street, and Chatterbox Restaurant, Prospect Avenue, Scranton.
He was a member of St. Eulalia's Parish, Roaring Brook Twp. Mike was an assistant coach for the North Pocono Dandy Lion Little League. He was an avid Yankees baseball fan, and loved taking trips wherever a baseball game could be watched. He also loved going to the beach with his family. As an amateur boxer, Mike fell in love with the world of boxing. He knew many boxers, trainers and managers, who would visit his restaurant in Scranton.
The family would like to thank Dr. Thomas Minora, Dr. David Sass and the staff at Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore.
Also surviving are daughters, Victoria Leach, at home; Dawn Bartolomeo, New York; and Regina Murray, Florida; sons, Zackery Leach, at home; Michael Carrella and wife, Tina; and Thomas Carrella and wife, Margee, Florida; 15 grandchildren; a sister, Julieanne Hynes, Florida; a brother, Guy Leach, New York; nieces and nephews; and close "family," James and George Busk, Florida.
He was also preceded in death by an infant son, Cody Leach; and a sister, Geraldine Leach.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. in St. Eulalia's Church, 214 Blue Shutters Road, Roaring Brook Twp., by the Rev. William Campbell. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
Friends may call Wednesday at the church from 9:45 a.m. until time of Mass.
