Isabel S. Smith, age 82, of Rochester, Minnesota, passed away August 23, 2014, at Seasons Hospice in Minnesota.

She was born May 7, 1932, in Susquehanna County, Pa. She is the daughter of the late Clifton and Lillian (Noble) Squier.

Isabel attended high school in New Jersey, graduating from North Arlington High School. She also graduated from Stroudsburg State Teachers College and was an elementary school teacher for a short time.

On June 11, 1957, she married Richard H. Smith in Binghamton, New York. In 1962, she and her husband moved to Rochester from New York. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and she enjoyed bowling, gardening, sewing, crocheting and reading. She especially loved spending time with family and sharing the joy of crafting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband, Richard; and one son, Michael Smith (Debra), both of Rochester; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Kevin) Beier of Middleton, Wis.; Heather (Shane) Undeberg of Rochester; and Michael (Theresa) Schaefer of Rochester; and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Jesse Squier (Helen) of Bushnell, Fla.; Daniel Squier (Kathy) of Springville, Pa.; and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Squier of Nicholson, Pa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Russell; and one brother, Frank Squier.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 30 at 11 a.m. in the West Nicholson United Methodist Church, with services by Pastor Margaret M. McCarty.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services.

Interment will take place in the Lynn Cemetery in Springville, Pennsylvania.
