Joseph Ritter, Scranton, died August 28th at the age of 95 1/2, having dedicated his long and joyful life to the loving care of his friends and family, service of his country, and commitment to his faith. He leaves behind many loved ones who have been uplifted and inspired by the exemplary life he lived, and is reunited with many more blessed by his love, especially his cherished wife, Marita, and daughter, Roberta. Among his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, he was an inspiration in wisdom, patience, kindness and faith. His calm and insightful presence was the perfect complement to the charisma and zeal of his beloved Marita, and all who met them were inspired by the joy they found in each other. The loving family that they raised together will always admire their example of a deeply devoted couple, generous to all in all things. Joseph will be profoundly missed by all who knew him, but the joy his life inspired will live with them forever.

Joseph was employed by the Laurel Line, DL&W and Erie Lackawanna railroads and retired from RCA as a Utilities Sytems Analyst.

Joseph is survived by daughters, Marita Howell, Evelyn Fontanella, Anne Kayes, Marlene Evanko and Mary Kay Maldonato; niece, Bernadette Gnudi; nephew, Bernard Kiesnoski; sisters, Margaret Donovan and Rose Marie Kennedy, as well as many other nieces and nephews.
