Eleanor Elizabeth Isaak, 93, of Gouldsboro, entered into eternal life Saturday, August 30, 2014, in Reading Hospital after a brief illness. She is the widow of Elmer W. "Ike" Isaak, who passed away December 13, 2006.

Born May 19, 1921, in Gouldsboro, Pa., she is the daughter of the late Rowland and Linnie Bender. Eleanor was a 1939 graduate of Coolbaugh Township High School. Prior to her retirement in 1983, she was employed as a secretary at Tobyhanna Army Depot.

Eleanor was a lifelong member of the Gouldsboro United Methodist Church, and served as church treasurer; and was involved with many church activities throughout her life.

Eleanor enjoyed extensive traveling with her husband and friends, visiting much of the United States. She was an avid reader and collector of antique china and glassware. Eleanor enjoyed bowling, and was a member of several mixed bowling leagues.

She will be dearly missed by family and friends.

Surviving are her daughter, Donna S. Matten of Shillington, Pa.; her grandson, Rhett P. Matten and wife, Jennifer of Sinking Spring, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, James R. Bender.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. in Duffy & Snowdon Funeral Home, 401 Church Street, Moscow, Pa., with the Rev. Peg Knapich as officiating clergy. Interment: Lehigh Cemetery, Gouldsboro, Pa.

Friends may call Thursday, 10 until 11 a.m., at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Gouldsboro United Methodist Church, 495 Main Street, Gouldsboro, PA 18424.
