I love Derek like a brother. We spent years laughing and enjoying life from middle school on. He lived with me for a year as my roomate.

I will never forget his wit, his love of life, and his kindness.

Rest in peace my friend. I will remember you for the rest of my life. If your family ever needs anything they should not hesitate to call me in Vermont. My number is listed in Marshfield.

I knew Derek when we were young, before I moved to the west coast and lost touch with everybody, but I remember him to this day as one of the funniest and happiest people I've ever known. I am very sad over the news of his passing, and at such a young age... my age. My condolences to everyone who knew him as I did, whose lives were made a little brighter for it.

I had the pleasure of sharing numerous moments with Derek. I truely was blessed to enjoy his company, and friendship.

I got to watch Derek grow, enjoy life, and embrace life's experiences.

The one thing I think of, when I think of Derek, is his radiant smile and great wit.

He will be truely missed.

My deepest condolences to his family, and all the people he touched, in the way only Derek could.

Your husband saved my daughter's life. For that we will be forever grateful. The gift he gave to this world cannot be measured in words. His memory lives on in all of the lives he has touched and saved. His legacy is that of hope for all of those touched by addiction. He has made this world a better place to live.
