Jason Christopher McHale, 26, of Dunmore, died Monday evening.

Born in Scranton, son of Donald P. and Nancy L. Durkin McHale of Dunmore, he was employed by the Waffle House in Moosic. He was a member of St. Paul's Church and was a graduate of Dunmore High School, class of 2001.

Jason loved listening to music, reading literature and poetry, watching movies and being with friends. He was a loving and caring son, brother, nephew, cousin and good friend to all who knew him. He thought of his mother as an angel and his father as his best friend. Jason always considered his older brother, Sean, as his hero and viewed his aunts and uncles with great respect.

Also surviving are a brother, Sean McHale, Scranton; maternal grandmother, Arlene Durkin, Dunmore; four aunts, Diane Ruby, Olyphant; Linda Fazio, Dunmore; Arlene Verbickas, Dunmore; and Carole McHale, Dunmore; six uncles, Michael Durkin, Dunmore; Kevin Durkin, Clarks Summit; Robert Durkin, Pittston; Gary Durkin, Scranton; Richard McHale, Dunmore; and Greg McHale, Dunmore; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Paul Durkin; paternal grandmother, Angela McHale; and an uncle, Paul Durkin.

The funeral will be Friday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Paul's Church, Scranton. Interment will take place in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Dunmore, at the convenience of the family.
