Laura V. Melioris

Laura V. Melioris, 95, a longtime resident of Scranton, died Friday at Community Medical Center. She was the widow of Thomas P. Melioris, who died Nov. 19, 1999.

Born in Avoca, daughter of the late Edward and Catherine Blicharz Voyack, she was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Church, its Altar and Rosary Society and the Catholic Women's Club.

She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed gardening, baking, sewing and spending time with her family.

Her primary caregiver was her daughter, Gloria.

Surviving are two daughters, Gloria Marta, Scranton; and Barbara Datto, Cherry Hill, N.J.; a sister, Helen Zatorsky; a brother, John Voyack; nine grandchildren, Dr. Monica Marta-Ely, Dr. George Datto, Dr. Michael Datto, Dr. Suzanne Littman, Dr. Jeffrey Datto, Thomas, Christopher, Gregory and Timothy Melioris; nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by a son, Thomas J.; two sisters, Ann Spindler and Marie Roginsky; and a brother, Frank Voyack.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Chipak Funeral Home, 343 Madison Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Nativity of Our Lord Church, 633 Orchard St., to be celebrated by the Rev. Michael Bryant, pastor. Entombment, Cathedral Cemetery.
